Go Tigers! Auburn University Bank Checks

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Are you tired of plain bank checks? Are you looking for a new way to support your favorite college foot ball team, the Tigers, or your favorite university? If so, then you should think about purchasing Auburn University bank checks.

A public university in Auburn, Alabama, Auburn University contains one of the most popular college sports‘ teams. On February 1, 1856 it was chartered and in 1892 it went on to become the first four-year coeducational school in Alabama. It’s name was officially changed to Auburn University in 1960 and it is widely referred to as “Auburn.” It also holds the distinction as being one of the few American universities that is a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant research center.

The college was closed during the Civil War mainly because most of the students and faculty left to enlist. The Confederate Army used the campus as a training ground, and the “Old Main” building was utilized as a hospital for the wounded. In 1952, a cannon lathe used for the manufacturing of cannons for the Confederate Army and recovered from Selma, Alabama, was presented to the school by brothers of Delta Chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.

Auburn was racially segregated like most schools in the south, with only white students being permitted entrance. This changed in 1964, however, and the integration went well when the first African-American student was admitted.

At present time, Auburn has over 23,000 students and a faculty of almost 1,200 just located at the main campus in Auburn. The Auburn University Montgomery satellite campus has over 6,000 students as well.

As far as sports go, Auburn is one of the charter members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Their teams are called the Tigers, and they compete in Division I-A of the NCAA and in the Western Division of the SEC. Auburn regularly wins competitions in swimming and diving, football, womens basketball, baseball and womens golf. The official colors of burnt orange and navy blue were chosen by Dr. George Petrie, Auburn’s first football coach.

Gene Chizik currently coaches the football team. Auburn was coached by “Shug” Jordan to a 10-0 record in 1957 and was awarded the AP National Championship. The teams were also recognized in 1913, 1914, 1958, 1983, 1993, and 2004. Pat Sullivan in 1971 and Bo Jackson in 1985 both won the Heisman Trophy. Even John Heisman, the Trophy’s namesake, coached at Auburn from 1895 until 1899. The football team calls Jordan-Hare Stadium home. It has a capability of seating of 87,451 which makes it the 9th-largest on-campus stadium in the NCAA.

You have two choices of checks if you would like to carry Auburn University checks- the Auburn #1 Fan checks or the Auburn Logo checks.

The Auburn University #1 Fan check series is for real fans of the game itself. These are cartoonish and humorous in nature. You can also purchase a matching checkbook cover and address labels as well.

The Auburn Logo checks show the Auburn emblem, in addition to the traditional school colors. Matching accessories can also be purchased with these checks.

If you wish to purchase Auburn checks then you should think about buying them online. With a safe website you can save as much as 50% off what your local bank might have charged you. Plus, you’ll have a wider selection to choose from.

Before you purchase Auburn Checks, go to AuburnChecks.net to find coupons and to save 50% off your next order of Auburn University Checks.

How To Maximize Your Official Recruiting Visits

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Did you know that you are allowed ONLY 5 Official Recruiting Visits? Do you have all of your recruiting visits scheduled with the coach that is recruiting you? Be sure to schedule your recruiting visits as soon as possible, so you can make your final collegiate decision. Have a lot of fun on your recruiting trip and BE SURE to make it a BUSINESS TRIP!

When I took my recruiting trip to Stanford my senior year, I had a blast! I had a chance to meet OUTSTANIDNG players from all over the country. I was teamed up with a great guy on the team to show me around campus, classes, and introduce me to the Palo Alto area. We went out to an AMAZING restaurant in Palo Alto. There was about 20 of us in the restaurant chowing down…I am glad I didnt have to pay that bill :) In the midst of all my fun, I made sure that I kept my wits, and I approached my visit as a business trip.

Why is this important?

One of the first things a coach will do once you leave is call the person that hosted you on your trip and find out all about you from your host. He will grill the person with questions such as:

Do you think he would fit into our program?

Did he keep his wits while he was around you?

How did he behave when you were out and about?

These are just a few questions a coach will ask his players, and my point is that the coach is going to grill the person he teamed you up with to make sure you seem to be a student-athlete that will fit into his program.

KEY STRATEGIES ON A RECRUITING TRIP:

1. PREPARE: Write down all your questions before your trip, so when you get on campus you are prepared to get your questions answered.

2. Do the RIGHT Thing while on campus – typically the person you are teamed up with will take you to a party. DO NOT drink or do drugs (you shouldn’t be doing this anyways) on your visit.

3. Talk to as many of the current players as possible. Find out how they feel about the campus, coaches, other players, professors, etc. This is important

4. Also, be sure to talk to as many students as possible as well. You can learn a lot from talking to the student body.

Duke College Football Update

Monday, October 5th, 2009

David Cutcliffe pulled off a sharp coaching judgment by quickly announcing Sunday that Thad Lewis might be his starter for this week’s showdown against the Kansas Jayhawks.

But I have just one problem with the way Cutcliffe went about things. It basically is such a trifling thing and I hesitated to even mention it, although felt bound to do it.

Cutcliffe revealed Lewis was one of a selection of athletes who had caught the flu and sat out in practice time.

If you tell me Lewis is the man, I am fine with that, mostly because I don’t have a choice and you can care less what my opinion is. However there is furthermore the fact that you are the head coach/qb authority and know more than I will ever recognize regarding that position.

There is no need to tell me Lewis is not one hundred percent.

He noticeably said he did not want to create a qb controversy, but, as the majority of people know, quarterback debates nine times outside 10 are started by fans and media, not personnel.

If a quarterback controversy manifests because of Renfree’s great play and Lewis’ not so nice play then deal with it if the questions appear.

While I agree with his choice and swiftness of it he can have opened up a undersized door for criticism of his starter.

If Lewis does not play well at Kansas then Cutcliffe will certainly receive questions about whether or not Lewis is one hundred percent and if he is not, why isn’t Renfree playing in the game?.

So for the coach’s good I hope Lewis steps up and is victorious or has a good game, because the absolutely last thing the team needs at present in the wake of the great motivator of defeating Army is a controversy.

Just ask Coach K if you’re in search of a second opinion. He has had to cope with one or two of situations like this one.
